Clowey Greenwood's Second Life Wiki

Second life is not a game.  It is a virtual world - a digital version of a world like the "real world" you live in.  It is completely built by the people behind the avatars who "live" there - the residents.  There are schools, businesses, governments, ecosystems, spaceships, and lots of houses.  You can make yourself look as good as you want (or be a robot or a tiny snow leopard), build a house, drive a Porsche (although, since you can fly or teleport, why drive?), buy clothes, furniture, or programming that makes you dance.  Or you can build your own using "prims"  simple 3D geometric shapes like cubes, spheres, or cones that you stretch, hollow, twist and put "textures" or surfaces like brick. satin, or hair on.  You can also go inside a cell, listen to a live music concert, visit with a scientist from Germany, or read in one of the many libraries.  You can learn about different religions or cultures, chat with people from many different countries, or attend conferences, discussions or meetings (for real!).
